私たちの研究室では、細胞や分子を扱う実験と、計算解析を往復しながら、動物と人の生命現象を探究しています。国内外の研究交流や学術情報との接点を保ちつつ、十和田の環境を、研究に集中し、継続して考えるための基盤としています。
Our research moves between experiments on cells and molecules and computational analysis to investigate biological phenomena in animals and humans. While remaining connected to researchers and scholarly exchange in Japan and abroad, we use the Towada setting as a foundation for sustained concentration and inquiry.

森、湖、渓流、雪。十和田の自然は、研究から離れるためだけの場所ではありません。集中した時間のあとに歩き、風景の変化に触れることは、考えを整理し、新たな視点を得るための余白になります。
Forests, lakes, streams and snow are more than places to step away from research. Walking after a period of concentrated work and observing changes in the landscape can create space to organize ideas and approach a question from a new perspective.

and an enduring equine heritage.
十和田では、現代アートが美術館の中だけにとどまらず、建築や通り、日常の風景へと広がっています。異なる表現や価値観に触れることは、研究対象を別の角度から捉え、既存の前提を問い直すきっかけにもなります。
同時に、この地域には馬とともに歩んできた歴史があります。南部地方に根づいた馬産や、三本木原の開拓を支えた馬の記憶は、官庁街通りの彫刻や「駒街道」、地域の文化施設などに受け継がれています。
新しい表現を受け入れる街の現在と、土地に蓄積された歴史。その双方に触れられることが、十和田で学び、研究する時間に奥行きを与えています。
In Towada, contemporary art extends beyond the museum into architecture, public spaces and the texture of everyday life. Encountering unfamiliar forms of expression can offer new ways of looking at a subject and create opportunities to reconsider established assumptions.
The city is also shaped by a long history shared with horses. The horse-breeding traditions of the Nanbu region and the role of horses in the development of the Sanbongi Plain remain visible in the sculptures along the civic-center avenue, in Koma Kaido and in local cultural institutions.
Together, the city's openness to new expression and the history embedded in the landscape give added depth to the experience of studying and conducting research in Towada.
